Dashboard Overview
The Dashboard is your daily operational hub. It is split into two primary columns: the Trade Log Form (left column) and the Performance Metrics/Charts (right column). This page is optimized for quick data entry and a real-time health check on your recent performance.
A Complete Guide to Trade Logging:
The "Log a New Trade Form" is designed for both simple and complex trades, including multi-leg entries and exits. Understanding how to log is key to accurate record-keeping.
How to Log Trades (Multi-Leg Entries and Exits):
-
Logging a Simple Trade (Entry/Exit):
- Fill in the Entry Date, Entry Time, Asset, Symbol, Action, Quantity, and Entry Price.
- To close the trade, fill in the **Exit Quantity** and **Exit Price**.
- New Feature: Exit Date/Time: You **must** also provide the **Exit Date** and **Exit Time** (using the hour, minute, and AM/PM dropdowns). This ensures accurate classification of trades as **Intraday** (Exit Date equals Entry Date) or **Delivery** (Exit Date is after Entry Date).
- Click **Add Trade**. The trade will be saved as **Closed** if the exit quantity equals the initial quantity, or **Open** if the quantity is different.
-
Handling Multi-Leg Trades (Scale-ins/Exits):
- For complex trades, first fill the **Initial Entry** details and click **Apply Initial Entry**. The trade is now saved as an open position.
- To **Scale-in** (add to the position), use the **Additional Quantity/Price** fields and click **Apply Scale-in**. Your **Average Entry Price** will be recalculated automatically in the Trade History section.
- To **Exit** (partial profit/loss booking), use the **Exit Quantity/Price** fields, enter the correct **Exit Date** and **Exit Time**, and click **Apply Exit**. You can apply multiple exits.
- Use the **Trade History** area (visible only in Edit Mode) to review, update, or delete individual entry or exit legs.
- Quantity Validation: The system prevents you from entering an exit quantity that exceeds the current **Open Quantity** held in the trade.
Managing Brokerage and Taxes (New Date Range Feature):
To ensure your **Net P&L** is accurate, you must log the total brokerage and taxes you paid. This is done in the "Manage Brokerage & Taxes" section below the trade form.
- Daily Mode (Default): Select the **Date** and enter the **Total Brokerage & Taxes** you paid for that specific day. The amount is automatically distributed among all logged trades on that date based on their **monetary value** (Quantity \* Price).
-
Date Range Mode (New Feature): Click the **Switch to Date Range** button (
icon) to switch modes. - Enter a **Start Date** and **End Date** (e.g., the period covered by your contract note).
- Enter the **Total Brokerage & Taxes for Period**.
- Click **Apply Charges**. The system will now distribute this single total amount proportionally across **all trades** logged between the start and end dates. **Important:** This action **overwrites** any previous daily brokerage you had already entered for that specific range.
Understanding Dashboard KPIs:
The performance metrics on the right side are dynamically updated based on the filters applied. These are the most important indicators:
- Intraday / Delivery Filter: This allows you to isolate your analysis. Select Intraday to view only trades opened and closed on the same day, or Delivery to view trades held overnight or longer.
- Current Funds: Your total real-time account value, calculated as: `(Initial Deposits - Withdrawals) + (Cumulative Net P&L)`.
- Total Net P&L: Your true bottom-line performance after deducting all brokerage and taxes.
- Win Rate: The percentage of trades that generated a gross profit.
- Profit Factor: A crucial metric calculated as `(Gross Profit of all winning trades) / (Gross Loss of all losing trades)`. A value greater than 1 indicates profitability.
- Positive Days %: The percentage of trading days where your Net P&L was positive. This measures consistency.
- Avg. Risk/Reward (R:R): The average ratio of potential Reward to actual Risk taken across all trades.
Trade Logs
The Trade Logs provide a comprehensive, spreadsheet-like table of every recorded trade, designed for deep review and data manipulation. This page contains all filtering, sorting, multi-select deletion, and the new broker import tool.
Broker Tradebook Import (Zerodha & Dhan) - Full Detail:
The broker import feature allows you to bypass manual data entry entirely by uploading your official tradebook from **Zerodha** or **Dhan** in CSV format. The system automatically processes and groups thousands of individual transactions into clear, single trade entries (even for complex scale-in/scale-out positions).
- Preparation: Export your tradebook data from your broker's platform. Ensure you download the **tradebook** (not the contract note or profit & loss statement) as a CSV file.
-
Start Import: On the Trade Logs page, click the **Import CSV** button (
). - Select Broker: A modal will ask you to select the broker that generated the CSV (**Zerodha** or **Dhan**). This is **critical** because each broker uses different column names (headers) for trade date, time, quantity, and price. Selecting the correct broker ensures accurate data mapping.
-
Upload & Processing: Select and upload your CSV file. The system handles the complex logic automatically:
- **Trade Grouping:** All transactions for a single symbol are processed chronologically.
- **Scale-in Logic:** Consecutive transactions for the same symbol in the **same direction** (e.g., Buy $\rightarrow$ Buy, or Sell $\rightarrow$ Sell) that occur close together are automatically merged and classified as **Scale-in Legs**. This recalculates the average entry price for the entire trade.
- **Exit Logic:** Transactions in the **opposite direction** (e.g., Buy $\rightarrow$ Sell) are grouped as **Exit Legs**. The system calculates the P&L for these exits based on the trade's average entry price at that time.
- **Open Trades:** Any position still open at the end of the file is imported as an **Open** trade with the remaining **quantity** calculated correctly.
- **Duplicate Prevention:** The system checks for and **skips any trades** already logged that match the symbol, date, time, action, and initial quantity.
- Finalization: A summary confirms the number of **New Trades Added** and **Duplicate Trades Skipped**. Your Trade Log table will automatically update with the imported data. You can then edit any trade to add subjective journal details.
Trade Logs Detail Editing:
The new Edit Trade modal on the Trade Logs page allows you to quickly update the qualitative aspects of a trade without navigating back to the Dashboard form.
-
Edit Button (
): Clicking the pencil icon on any trade row opens a modal specifically designed for these quick edits. -
Fields to Edit:
- **Trade Management:** Select one of the four categories (e.g., *Good Trade, Good Management*) to track your execution discipline.
- **Mistake Done:** Choose the primary mistake you made (e.g., *FOMO*, *Revenge Trading*, *Poor Exit*).
- **Remarks:** Add detailed notes about your setup, emotions, and lessons learned.
- **Trade Strategy:** Define the strategy used for the trade.
- **Image Upload:** You can also upload a trade screenshot directly through this quick edit modal.
Trade Logs Advanced Features:
- Extensive Filters: An expanded filter set, including Asset Type, Symbol, Time of Day, Day of Week, Outcome, Mistakes, and Strategy (many are unlocked for Basic/Pro plans).
- Sortable Table: All key columns are sortable by clicking the column headers.
- Column Management: Use the Eye Icon to hide or show columns, and the Snowflake Icon to freeze the initial columns while scrolling.
- Export to CSV (Pro): Export your actively filtered trade data to a CSV file.
Visual Logs
The Visual Logs transforms your trade journal into an interactive gallery of all the trade screenshots you've uploaded. This feature is crucial for quickly correlating your charts and setups with the resulting trade outcome. (Available for Basic/Pro users).
Key Functionality:
- The Image Grid: Trades with screenshots are displayed as interactive cards, showing the image, Symbol, Date, and Net P&L.
- Gallery Filters: Filter the gallery by parameters like Strategy, Outcome, or Asset.
- Zoomable Viewer: Clicking an image opens a full-screen, zoomable viewer for detailed chart inspection.
Smart Image Replication:
This is a convenience feature. If you trade the same symbol multiple times on the same day (e.g., trade 'SAIL' five times) and only upload one screenshot for one of those trades, the system will automatically display that same image for all other 'SAIL' trades on that day that are missing an image. This saves you from uploading the same chart repeatedly. If you upload a unique image for each trade, each trade will correctly display its own specific screenshot.
Analytics Page (Pro Plan)
The Analytics Page provides a powerful suite of graphical tools for in-depth performance analysis. This is where you transform your raw data into actionable insights to understand your trading system's true edge.
Understanding the Charts:
- P&L Trend (Equity Curve): A line chart showing your cumulative Net P&L over time. This is the most important chart for visualizing your account's growth trajectory.
- Daily P&L: A bar chart displaying your Net P&L for each individual day. Green bars are profitable days, red bars are losing days. It helps you visualize your daily consistency.
- Trades per Day vs P&L (Scatter Plot): This plot helps diagnose over-trading. Each dot is a trading day, showing how many trades you took (horizontal axis) vs. how much you made or lost (vertical axis).
- Performance by Strategy: A bar chart that groups your trades by strategy, showing the total Net P&L for each. This instantly tells you which strategies are working and which are not.
- Performance by Asset: Similar to the strategy chart, this breaks down your Net P&L by asset class (e.g., Stocks, Options, Crypto) to show where you perform best.
- Performance by Symbol: Drills down even further to show your total Net P&L for each individual symbol you've traded.
- Wins vs Losses by Hour: This bar chart shows the total number of winning and losing trades for each hour of the day, helping you identify your most effective trading hours.
- Win Rate by Day of Week: A bar chart that calculates your win rate for each day (Monday to Friday), revealing if you perform better on certain days.
- Risk-to-Reward Distribution: A histogram that shows how often you achieve different R:R ratios (e.g., 1:1, 1:2, 1:3). It helps assess if you are letting your winners run.
- Equity & Max Drawdown: This chart tracks your total account equity (including deposits/withdrawals) and calculates your maximum drawdown—the largest peak-to-trough decline your account has suffered.
- Mistake Analysis: A pie chart that visually breaks down the trading mistakes you've logged, showing which errors you commit most frequently.
- Trade Management Analysis: A pie chart that analyzes how well you managed your trades based on your own logs (e.g., 'Good', 'Bad', 'Average'), showing your discipline at a glance.
- AI Performance Report: A one-click, written analysis of your filtered data generated by AI, providing personalized insights on strengths, weaknesses, and potential areas for improvement.
